2022 Say It Out Loud Conference Call for Presentations 
 
 

The 21st annual SIOL Conference will be held virtually Thursday May 26, 2022. The theme is “We ARE Family” to honor and recognize the many structures and diverse expression of families there are, biological and chosen.

The conference provides a welcoming space for all, to educate, network and share knowledge with attendees to better serve and support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) individuals and their families and decrease disparities faced daily. Dialogue is encouraged across all topics that touch and impact individuals including understanding how difference with regards to gender identity and sexuality impact overall behavioral and physical health, self-determination and well-being.

Attendees include professionals across behavioral health (mental health and substance use), across all ages and populations, health care, non-profit agencies who serve LGBTQ+ individuals and families, child welfare, education, criminal justice, etc.

Topics varieties of interest are intersections of race/ethnicity, LGBTQ+ and family. We would like to provide workshops across all age groups and knowledge levels. Speaking to the importance of family systems, navigating coming out, celebrating a holistic approach to family, especially intentional and/or untraditional. Historically about 60% of participants are attending for the first time.
