Family Engagement - Community of Practice
The Parent Engagement Program invites District Teams to participate in building sustainable and empowering parent and family engagement programs for effective family partnerships which impacts student success. This Community of Practice will provide District Teams with
foundational knowledge from Dr. Joyce L. Epstein's Framework for School, Family and Community Partnerships including The Six Types of Parent Involvement and Action Teams for Partnerships
foundational knowledge of Dr. Karen Mapp's Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships
best practices for engaging transformative school family and community partnerships
time to reflect and use evaluation tools from the CDE's Family Engagement Framework and Toolkit to create equitable parent engagement teams in their district
listening session with CDE's Family Engagement Office
Participants in this Community of Practice will learn about best practices from other participants, create equitable action plans from their own district, and seek continuous growth in their family engagement efforts at their school district.

Audience: Site administrators, District Staff and administrators, County Office of Education Staff, Parent Liaisons, Teacher on Special Assignment focused on Family Engagement.
