Family engagement is one of the most important factors in a student’s success, so participants will discuss CDE District Principles on how schools can best implement capacity building, leadership, resource allocation, progress monitoring, access and equity for school, family, and community partnerships.
For Districts who are looking to continuously improve their family engagement practices through an equity lens, this toolkit offers the “how-to” of establishing effective and sustainable structures and practices.
Released in Fall 2022, the National Association For Family, School and Community Engagement (NAFSCE) identifies eight competencies that family-facing professionals bring to form strong family partnerships. This topic is especially relevant for those who want to define the role of family-facing professionals: the family and community liaison and educators within the community setting such as librariauns and afterschool staff.
