The Restorative Practice Training is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to understanding tobacco/vape use motivations in youth grades 6 through 12 as an alternative to suspension. This training aims to equip school staff, administrators, and school resource officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement restorative practices in school settings, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students.
Participants will learn about the principles of restorative practice and how they can be applied to effectively address tobacco/vape use behaviors among youth. The training will focus on understanding the underlying motivations behind tobacco use, exploring strategies for prevention and intervention, and promoting positive behavior change through restorative approaches. The training will also include education on the addictiveness of vapes and nicotine products and provide cessation resources for youth.
