Session Description: Effective science communication centers audience knowledge, values, beliefs, attitudes, and cultural contexts and often takes the form of stories or metaphors to place technical information in a context that an audience can relate to. What is important to remember when communicating about climate science and solutions is that we are working to build trust and support in our communities for collective action. Psychological studies have shown that if communicators can activate the appropriate frame, our audiences are more likely to connect with and be open to the implications of the information we are sharing.
