National Agriculture in the Classroom is seeking workshop proposals for the 2024 NAITC Conference "Agriculture Elevated" scheduled for June 24-27, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

**Please note a profile needs to be created to submit a workshop proposal and the email used to create the profile will be associated with workshop communications.

If you submitted a workshop for the 2023 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference, you will need to create a new profile (you can not use last year's account info) to login to submit for the 2024 conference.

Proposals must demonstrate how the workshop uses agricultural concepts to meet the National Agricultural Literacy Outcomes (NALOs) and teach reading, writing, math, nutrition, science, STEM, social studies and other subject areas. Proposals also must reach early elementary (grades pre-kindergarten-2), upper elementary (grades 3-5), middle school (grades 6-8), high school (9-12) or all grades.

NEW! Each main workshop presenter of the accepted proposals will receive a $50.00 Visa gift card!

Workshops style options are defined as full or mini.

  • Full workshops will last one hour.
  • Mini workshops will last 20 minutes and will be repeated 3 times with a 10-minute break in between.

The selection committee is motivated to develop an agenda of workshops that meet a wide variety of grade levels, subject areas, and agriculture topics. Suggestions for agriculture workshop themes include:

  • Animal science and husbandry (pigs, beef cattle, dairy cows, chickens/eggs, sheep, trout, bees)
  • Plant science (corn, wheat, safflower, barley, hay, tart cherries)
  • Renewable energy (ethanol, biodiesel, biogas, wind, solar)
  • Conservation (water use, soil health, pollinators, rangeland)
  • Biotechnology (GMOs, cross-breeding, pesticides, nutrition quality)

In order to complete the workshop submission process, you will need:

  • A brief presenter/co-presenter(s) biography (50 words or less) describing their background and experience teaching in the agricultural literacy field.
  • A presenter/co-presenter(s) headshot.
  • A workshop description (200 words or less) which will be used on the conference agenda and conference app. We encourage you to choose a descriptive, catchy title.

*Please be aware that once proposals have been completed and submitted an editing feature is not accessible. If changes need to be made, please email programs@naitco.org. If a proposal has not yet been completed and is in the “incomplete” status a self-editing feature is accessible.

  • The deadline for submissions is October 6, 2023
  • Presenters will be notified in December of the status of their submission. For accepted workshops, presenter conformation is required by January 22, 2024
  • Presenters must upload workshop presentation files by May 20, 2024
