Tocqueville United Signature Series
Dialogue and Deliberation – Moving the Race Conversation Forward

This event occured on October 8 at 3:30-5:00 PM EDT/ 2:30-4:00 PM CDT/ 12:30-2:00 PM PDT. If you would like to watch the recording, click here.

Widespread protests have touched almost every community in America and across the world in the last few months, changing the narrative surrounding racial injustice in our national discourse. These demonstrations and the ensuing reckoning around institutional racism in the U.S. serve as powerful reminders that in order to truly serve every person in every community, United Ways and their advocates must not only acknowledge the inextricable connection between philanthropy and equity work, but also lead the fight for racial equity. Dialogue and Deliberation is an opportunity for Tocqueville Society members to discover how they can shape the conversational landscape about race in their communities, thereby contributing to the much larger national project of advancing transformational change. Following a facilitated dialogue between our speakers, attendees will break into smaller groups for moderated conversations on select racial equity topics.
